MOVE
VASE FAMILY - 2018
Product / Object

The »Move« vase family consists of three different vase sizes. With a marble ball at one end, a 5mm wide copper wire rests on the narrow mouth of the vase, reaching vertically into the water. This ensures that the flowers in the »Move« vases stay fresh longer due to the antibacterial effect of the copper***. The marble ball becomes a special part of the arrangement.

*** Over the years, it has been suggested that adding copper coins to flower vases could have a positive effect on the freshness and longevity of flowers. The theory behind this is that copper somehow inhibits the growth of bacteria in the water, thereby prolonging the life of the flowers. While there are many anecdotal reports supporting this method, there is currently no scientific evidence to definitively support these claims.
It's important to note that even though the effect of copper coins on vases hasn't been scientifically proven, people continue to try different methods to prolong the life of their flowers. Some believe that the pure belief in the positive effect could have a psychological effect, making the flowers seem to last longer. In any case, the use of copper coins in flower vases remains an interesting, if not fully researched, practice.
